The project seeks to met the requirements of the client’s brief by remodeling and extending the existing house. Reorganising the circulation space, including the re-positioning of the current staircase, presents an opportunity to install new roof lights, allowing natural daylight to penetrate all three floors through a dramatic three storey void, cascading through new glazed floors to illuminate the centre of the plan, an area that was previously characterised by its dark and shadowed nature.
